Franklin Carcamo Giron was accused of multiple instances of rape back in 2001 and was charged with two counts of rape of a juvenile under the age of 13 years old, the Leesburg Police Department reported.

That same year, Carcamo Giron was released on bond and he fled to El Salvador, officials said.

In 2019, 18 years later, Leesburg Police discovered where he was in El Salvador and worked with international law enforcement to find, extradite, and arrest Carcamo Giron, authorities said.

Carcamo Giron was arrested in August 2020 and was returned to the U.S. on August 12, 2022, police reported.

Now, 21 years after his first arrest, Carcamo Giron was charged again with two counts of rape of a juvenile under the age of 13 years old and was held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond, Leesburg officials said.
